Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using BellaBear ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). BellaBear is operated by Simple Tech, LLC d/b/a BellaBear ("we," "us," "our"), a Pennsylvania limited liability company. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of the child(ren) for whom you are creating content to use this Service.

2. Description of Service

BellaBear is a subscription service that creates personalized bedtime stories for children. Stories are generated using artificial intelligence technology and narrated using voice synthesis technology trained on recordings you provide. Each story is unique and personalized based on your child's Bear Persona (a character profile you create).

3. Subscription Plans and Billing

New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, you must actively subscribe and provide payment to continue using the Service. We will NOT auto-charge you at the end of the trial.

3.3 Recurring Billing

Auto-renewal disclosure: After you subscribe, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) at the then-current price. You will be charged through Stripe using the payment method on file. You can cancel at any time before the next billing date to avoid being charged for the next period.

3.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time by:

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access until then. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.

3.5 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with 30 days' email notice. Price changes apply at your next billing cycle after the notice period.

4. Voice Recording and Cloning

4.1 Your Voice

You grant BellaBear a limited, revocable license to use your voice recording solely for the purpose of generating story narration within the BellaBear service. This license:

If you invite other adults (grandparents, family members) to record their voices for your account, each person must provide their own consent. You may not record or upload another person's voice without their knowledge and explicit written consent. Violation of this provision may result in account termination.

5.1 Content Generation

Stories are generated by artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude) based on your child's Bear Persona. While we implement extensive safety filters, AI-generated content may occasionally:

Every story passes through our multi-layer content safety pipeline before delivery. We filter for age-appropriateness, banned themes, and tonal consistency. However, no automated system is perfect. We recommend parents preview stories before playing them for very young children (ages 2-3).

5.3 Content Reporting

If you receive a story that you believe is inappropriate, you can report it immediately by clicking "Report Story" in the player or emailing safety@bellabear.co. We will review reported content within 24 hours and take corrective action.

Upon termination, we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You may download your generated stories before termination takes effect.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. You agree to attempt informal resolution by emailing legal@bellabear.co before pursuing formal legal action.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms with 30 days' email notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Material changes to billing or data handling require affirmative consent.
